Photography and writing have always gone hand in hand. I used to carry a camera around with me, taking pictures to have a physical representation of something I may want to write about at a later time. I even went to college for photography, though the program focused on portraiture and commercial options as opposed to artistic. Living in a creative mindset revolves around observation. Even the smallest things can lead to something great.
When I look at an image, my imagination races and I ask questions. I want to know why a cat might sit in that particular window. What kind of mystical creatures could live around this bizarre tree. Photographs help transport me to new and interesting places. They are the extensions of the characters that walk beside me, the landscapes that draw me into their secrets, the moments that bring beauty to life.
